of a minister, she received a BA degree from the College of Wooster

in downtown Providence and that led to a position at what was
then The Washington County Mental Health Clinic. Over time Cynthia
started a small private practice which went full time in 1977.
She continues to work part time doing telehealth and lives in
Pawtucket, Rhode Island with her partner, Tom Peters, and with

Thea
Ernest arrived in Rhode Island in 1983, ready to give herself
up to art. She earned a BFA in Jewelry and Light Metals from the
Rhode Island School of Design. Years later, Ernest finds herself
painting, teaching and illustrating books. This collaboration with
Cynthia Wilcox has been an eye-opening experience: while painting
the images, Ernest often thought, "I needed this chapter years
ago!" The drawings are meant to infuse humor and color into
the serious conversational "snippets" that Wilcox presents.
We hope that this little book will serve you well.
